CMI (Chicago Model International, Inc) was founded in 1980 to develop and market products to the hobby industry. Our introduction to the ad specialty industry (and flashing LED lights) came when we used a flashing LED ad specialty item at a hobby trade show in 1996. The promo piece stole the show! We learned then and there the value of illuminated items and how they draw immediate attention to events, brands, services and product lines.

Sensing a great opportunity, CMI introduced Promolites LED products in a variety of shapes and sizes in 1997. We then enhanced our offerings with a unique line of customized, hybrid die-cast trucks featuring LED lights and digital sound.
